Plainfield Township currently employs five full time workers and two part time summer helpers, along with a short list of part time winter snow plowers. The forty foot by one-hundred and forty foot road department is located at 517 Getz Road and houses eight trucks and ten other pieces of equipment used   throughout the season.

Allot of our work done throughout the year is strongly effected by the weather. Sometimes planned events or schedules are delayed or changed due to unexpected and unfortunate outbreaks from mother nature. Most work performed, is normal maintenance that takes place within the townships right of way, which is sixteen and a half feet from the center of the roadway, and twenty five feet within developments. Any other major work that is needed for proper water run-off or sight distance problems at intersections that might encroach upon your property, you will receive a notice before any work is started.
